Title

Ayurvedic aspects of Shatapuspha (Anethum sowa) and its clinical importance

Abstract

Shatapuspha (Anethum sowa) a tall, glabrous, aromatic herb found throughout tropical and sub- tropical regions. Seeds of plant also known as dill seed is an ancient Indian spice1. It is known for its carminative, analgesic and anti-inflammatory property. Shatapuspha has been described in Kashyap Samhita under Shatapuspha and shatavari kalpa along with their gynecological importance. This article will emphasis on description of drug in various ayurvedic texts.
