Abstract: Recovery and preservation of significant aspects of Indian traditional knowledge and culture has become vital to sustain human-life in India today. A vast treasure-trove is hidden in ancient Sanskrit scriptures worth revealing. One such manuscript is Sharangdhara Samhita vis-a-vis Paddhati. The present author paid attention particularly to the agri-horticultural practices prevalent in ancient Indian societies. A total of 15 tree species of economic significance pertaining to 15 genera and 12 angiospermic families are focussed for the present account. The contents in Sanskrit verses are translated finding out positive science embedded in them. The details of these ancient techniques and practices are limelighted divulging their relevance even in recent times for the welfare of mankind in general and boosting agro-based economy of India. It is further reiterated that we should not ignore such pristine Sanskrit literary treasures in future.
