Title

Response of combine effect of organic and inorganic source of nutrient management in tomato [Solanum lycopersicum L.)

Abstract

To achieve the goal of objectives in proposed theme of research entitled “Response of combine effect of organic and inorganic source of nutrient management in tomato [Solanum lycopersicum L.)” was taken up at the student Research farm of Department of Horticulture (Vegetable Science), School of Agriculture Science, Technology & Research, Sardar Patel University, Balaghat (M.P.) during Kharif season of year 2023-24, Randomized Block Design consisting of 12 treatment combinations in 3 replications during Kharif season of 2023-24. Observations were recorded on growth attributes viz., plant height and number of branches per plant at 60 DAT and number of leaves per plant at 15, 30, 45 and 60 DAT; phenological attributes viz., days to first flowering, days to 50% flowering and No. of fruit/plant; yield attributes viz., diameter(cm), fresh weight of plant (g), fruit yield /plot (kg), fruit yield /ha (q); quality attributes viz., total soluble solids ("Brix). Based on one-year experimental data, it is concluded that among the treatments, 25% NPK 30:15:15 kg/ha + Vermicompost 6 t/ha + borax 5 kg/ha (T11) recorded significantly higher plant height, Number of leaves, Number of branches, maximum fruit yield and net income (Rs. 125558.21/ha) with 2.29 B:C ratio from tomato, which was found beneficial under the existing agro-climatic conditions of Balaghat district of Madhya Pradesh.
