Title

REFINEMENT OF OFDM BASED INTEGRATED RADAR COMMUNICATION SYSTEM BY USING KOOKABURRA OPTIMIZATION ALGORITHM (KOA)

Abstract

Integrated Radar and Communication systems often use orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) to improve the sharing of scarce spectrum resources and offer efficient solutions for intelligent cars. Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) modulations' high data rate and wide bandwidth have made integrated waveform design using OFDM-based signals a hot study issue in recent years. This Paper proposes an integrated radar and communication (RADCOM) system for the automotive application based on orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM). It's commonly known that using OFDM improves communication systems, and radar performance can be improved by taking advantage of the same benefits. Various communication receivers are also assigned these OFDM sub-carriers that the radar uses in order to accomplish the communications goals. To optimize radar performance, the mutual information (MI) between the transmit waveform and the frequency-dependent target response is utilized. Radar performance is greatly enhanced by the OFDM signal's frequency diversity. This encourages the authors to use the OFDM waveform as the basis for a RADCOM system. Bit error rate (BER) analysis and Target Detection are used to assess the performance of communication systems. Lastly the Kookaburra Optimization Algorithm (KOA) is a new bio-inspired metaheuristic algorithm that mimics the natural behavior of kookaburras in nature, is introduced to enhance orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) radar communication. The primary source of inspiration for KOA is the way kookaburras seek and kill their prey.
