Title

RANDOMIZED CONTROLLED CLINICAL TRIAL OF HRIBERADI KWATHA ORALLY IN THE MANAGEMENT OF ASRUGDARA W.S.R. TO MENORRHAGIA.

Abstract

Women's health is crucial for her family, society, and culture, as any physical or mental imbalance can disrupt her normal menstrual cycle. Asrugdara is a common gynaecological condition that occurs from menarche to menopause, significantly impacting daily life. It is classified as a Rasadoshaja and Raktadoshaja Vikara, characterized by excessive or irregular menstrual bleeding, differing from normal menstrual flow. Based on its symptoms, it can be correlated with abnormal DUB. If left untreated, this debilitating disorder can affect both physical and mental well- being, often leading to hysterectomy. The root cause (Nidana) plays a crucial role in the disease's development (Samprapti). Various dietary and lifestyle factors, including excessive consumption of Lavana (salty), Amla (sour) and Katu (pungent) tastes, along with heavy, oily, acidic, and fermented foods like curd (Dadhi), vinegar (Sukta), and sour gruel (Mastu), contribute to the aggravation of Vata and Pitta Doshas and the vitiation of Rakta Dhatu, leading to Asrigdara. According to Ayurvedic classics, avoiding causative factors (Nidana Parivarjana) is the primary step in treatment. Understanding these factors is essential for accurate diagnosis, effective prevention, and proper management of the disease. Hriberadi kwatha has Raktastambhak, Raktashodhak, Vatpittaghna, deepan and Pachan Properties working all together towards normalizing the vitiated doshas and thereby alleviating the cause of Asrugdara.
