The rapid expansion of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies has led to significant environmental challenges, with water consumption being a primary concern. Data centres, which power AI models, rely on water-intensive cooling systems to manage the heat produced during both training and operational phases. This paper explores the strategies for reducing water wastage in AI infrastructure by adopting efficient cooling technologies, optimizing energy sources, and implementing sustainable practices in data centre operations. By analyzing existing research and proposing innovative solutions, the goal is to minimize the water footprint of AI systems, ensuring a balance between technological growth and environmental sustainability. Key strategies include the use of renewable energy, novel cooling technologies, and AI-driven monitoring mechanisms that collectively reduce water consumption in data centres. These efforts are essential for the responsible development of AI technologies, minimizing their environmental impact.
