The rural economy and varied agro-climatic conditions of Assam pose distinct issues that community radio skilfully tackles. These radio stations serve farmers essential information on pest control, crop management, weather updates, and best practices by broadcasting in the local languages and dialects. Through the removal of obstacles related to literacy and the promotion of useful knowledge, this localised strategy guarantees that information is available and actionable. Additionally, community radio promotes farmer-to-farmer communication and facilitates the sharing of customs and indigenous knowledge. Through the provision of professional guidance, success stories, and interactive activities that let farmers communicate with peers and professionals directly, it promotes agricultural extension services. Additionally, by providing a forum for local people to express their needs and concerns, community radio empowers them and results in more focused and adaptable agricultural initiatives.
