Positive emotions can change cognitive abilities and when compounded with a well planned theme through a good piece of literature or music or any other art form, it can help the person who is exposed to it to not only enhance their own mental state, but also be a much healthier happier individual. In this paper we specifically focus on Bharata’s Nātyaśāstra which is a very ancient work and part of Indian Knowledge Systems which focuses on such positive emotion generation called Rasa Niṣpatti specifically through art forms with the intention of building a sustainable happy healthy society. We demonstrate that this was a deliberate intention and even today can influence the welfare of the society if such art forms are publicized through the current forms of media for easier accessibility.
