Antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) represent a promising frontier in the fight against antibiotic-resistant infections. Their broad-spectrum activity, rapid mechanism of action, and ability to target bacterial membranes with minimal resistance development distinguish them from traditional antibiotics. AMPs offer potential not only as direct therapeutic agents but also as adjunct therapies to enhance the efficacy of existing treatments. Ongoing research is crucial to overcoming challenges such as stability, toxicity, and cost-effectiveness, ensuring that AMPs can be safely and effectively integrated into clinical practice. As the global health community seeks innovative solutions to combat persistent and emerging pathogens, AMPs hold significant promise as a cornerstone of future antimicrobial strategies. Therefore in this research, we look into the areas culminating in the advance of antimicrobial peptides.
