Mosquito-borne diseases pose a significant global health challenge, necessitating the development of safe and effective mosquito repellents. Synthetic repellents, such as DEET, have raised concerns due to their potential toxicity and environmental impact. This study focuses on the formulation and evaluation of a herbal mosquito repellent dhoop, utilizing plant-based ingredients known for their mosquito-repelling properties. The formulation comprises Neem (Azadirachta indica), Citronella (Cymbopogon nardus), Lemongrass (Cymbopogon citratus), Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus globulus), Turmeric (Curcuma longa), Camphor (Cinnamomum camphora), and Cow Dung as a base material. These ingredients were selected based on their insecticidal, repellent, and antimicrobial properties. The dhoop sticks were prepared using a wet granulation method, ensuring uniform composition and slow, sustained burning.
