Title

Vision Aid: An AI-Driven Assistive System for Reading Text on Bright Displays and object recognition for the Visually Impaired

Abstract

This project aims to develop an AI-powered assistive device using Raspberry Pi to aid visually impaired individuals in reading text from bright digital screens. The system captures text using a camera, processes it using AI-based image enhancement, extracts text via Optical Character Recognition (OCR), and converts it into speech output for accessibility. The solution overcomes limitations in existing assistive technologies by improving real-time text recognition and readability in dynamic lighting conditions.
