Title

AWARENESS ON FRAYER MODEL AMONG PROSPECTIVE TEACHERS

Abstract

Frayer Model is an effective teaching technique designed to enhance students' vocabulary acquisition and comprehension. It fosters a conducive learning environment, reduces anxiety, and increases motivation, making it an essential tool for educators. This model helps students develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and comprehension skills by providing a structured framework that enables them to clarify concepts, categorize words, and differentiate between complex definitions. To implement the Frayer Model effectively, teachers should incorporate various strategies such as visual organizers, vocabulary notebooks, and digital tools like interactive games and quizzes. As a valuable instructional tool, the Frayer Model enhances vocabulary learning, promotes analytical thinking, and accommodates diverse learning needs. Its structured approach enables students to develop a deeper understanding of new concepts, ultimately improving their language proficiency and academic success. The present study aims to examine the awareness of the Frayer Model among prospective teachers. The objective of the study is to determine the significant difference in the mean scores of awareness of the Frayer Model among prospective teachers based on locale, optional subjects, and educational qualifications. This study adopted the normative survey method. The sample consisted of 100 prospective secondary education teachers from Kanniyakumari District. For data analysis, the statistical technique used was the t-test. The findings of the study revealed a significant difference in the mean scores of awareness of the Frayer Model among prospective teachers concerning locale, optional subjects, and educational qualifications.
