Albizia procera (Roxb.)Benth. is commonly called as white Siris or Safedsiris. It is a large deciduous tree 18-24 m in height and 1-8 m over in girth, found in Central and E. Himalayas , Bihar, West Bengal, Satpura range, Gujrat, South India and Andaman. The plant is used for stomach and intestinal diseases, and during pregnancy. All parts of the plant are reported to show anti-cancerous activity and decoction of bark is given in rheumatism and hemorrhage. The plant bark shows insecticidal and piscicidal properties and plant root have spermicidal activity. Present investigation was designed to check the antioxidant activity of leaf and bark methanolic extract of the plant. It showed maximum DPPH radical scavenging activity percentage 87.07 % in the ascorbic acid solution at 250 (µg/ml). It was compared with the leaves and bark extracts of the plant which revealed that bark extract (79.85 %) has more DPPH radical scavenging activity percentage than the leaves extract (71.1 %) of the plant
