Title

Fibre Reinforced Concrete

Abstract

Concrete, one of the most widely used construction materials globally, exhibits high compressive strength, durability, and stiffness. However, its inherent brittleness and low tensile strength limit its performance, especially under tensile loads. To address these limitations, reinforced concrete is commonly used, incorporating steel rebar to carry tensile stresses. Despite its durability, the corrosion of embedded rebar remains a significant cause of failure. This research explores the potential of enhancing concrete’s properties by incorporating natural and synthetic fibers. Specifically, it investigates the use of Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete (GFRC) and Coir Fiber Reinforced Concrete (CFRC).
