Title

BENEFITS AND DRAWBACKS OF ONLINE SHOPPING

Abstract

. The digital revolution has significantly transformed consumer behaviour, making online shopping a dominant force in the retail industry. With the rise of internet access and digital technologies, platforms like Amazon, Flipkart, and Alibaba have become widely recognized, offering consumers the ability to browse, compare, and purchase products anytime, anywhere. This convenience, combined with diverse product offerings and competitive pricing, has made e- commerce an integral part of modern life Online shopping provides numerous advantages, including time-saving, access to a global marketplace, and the ability to read product reviews before purchasing. It caters especially well to busy lifestyles, remote locations, and tech-savvy consumers seeking quick and efficient shopping experiences. However, despite its growing popularity, online shopping is not without drawbacks. Consumers cannot physically inspect items before purchase, which can lead to dissatisfaction. Security risks, such as online fraud and data breaches, raise concerns about the safety of digital transactions. Additionally, issues like delivery delays, damaged goods, and complicated return processes can diminish user satisfaction This paper explores the benefits and challenges of online shopping in the context of evolving consumer needs. Understanding both sides of this trend is essential for improving customer experience and shaping the future of e-commerce in an increasingly digital world.
