This article tries to explore the intrinsic connection between Human Rights and Indian culture. It shows that the pillars of human rights are Liberty, Equality and Fraternity. These three concepts are also foundations of Indian Culture and Religious traditions. Here it is shown how these concepts are evolving in Indian Culture and Philosophy since pre-Vedic age down the centuries. This is also fact that the growth of humanitarian ethics is responsible for introduction of rights and human rights. This article attempts to show how the holistic human rights concepts are enriched and protected negatively, gathering synergies from philosophical traditions and cultural practices.
