Title

Design & Fabrication of Cycloidal Gearbox for High Torque Applications

Abstract

This paper presents the design and fabrication of a cycloidal gearbox aimed at achieving high torque transmission in compact mechanical systems. Cycloidal drives offer advantages such as low backlash, high torque capacity, and compactness, making them ideal for robotics and industrial automation. The project involved CAD modeling, finite element analysis (FEA), and physical fabrication of a single-stage cycloidal gearbox prototype. Performance parameters such as gear ratio, torque output, and efficiency were evaluated and validated against theoretical values. The final assembly demonstrated the feasibility of low-cost, high-performance cycloidal transmission systems for engineering applications.
