Title

AYURVEDIC MANAGEMENT OF PRAMEHA: CASE REPORTS

Abstract

Prameha, also known as a silent killer in today's society, is a shleshma-pradhana tridoshaja vyadhi characterized by frequent and turbid urination. It is categorized based on doshik 4predominance into Kaphaja (10 types), Pittaja (6 types), and Vataja (4 types), and further classified as sthoola pramehi and krusha pramehi based on chikitsa. Clinical signs and symptoms of Prameha correlate with Diabetes Mellitus, a global burden due to its mortality and morbidity, primarily caused by inappropriate lifestyle and diet. This case study describes two different types of Prameha patientsCase I: A 49-year-old female patient with tiredness and weight loss for 1 year and an HbA1C level of 11.Case II: A 55-year-old male patient with excessive hunger and weight gain for 1 year, with FBS257 and PBS384.Diagnosis was based on prathyalakshana of Prameha, managed with pramehahara aushada like chandraprabhavati, nisamalaki churanam, abhraka bhasma, indukantham kasayam, kathakakadhiradi kashayam, regular exercise, diet, and lifestyle changes. Follow-up at 15 days showed symptom improvement, leading to withdrawal of tab metformin 500 mg. This study attempts to control Prameha by identifying risk factors and following strict aushada sevana pathya according to Ayurveda.
