Rampura Lake is located in the Jobat Tehsil of Alirajpur district. It is a medium-sized lake built for irrigation. This lake provides water for agricultural purposes to Rampura and various nearby villages. Moreover, it is also important to offer drinking water and raise underground water levels in Rampura and other surrounding villages. Fish rearing is also done in this lake, which creates job opportunities for local people. Though agriculture is the main profession of the inhabitants here, fish farming is also another way of earning their living. Apart from its functional significance, this lake is also a tourist center for the inhabitants, who often come here to see its beauty in the summer and winter months. Currently, the existence of the lake is threatened due to encroachments around it, leading to a decline in the number of tourists visiting. This research paper aims to assess the water quality of the Ramapura Lake and to raise awareness among the people about it so that efforts can be made for its conservation, allowing us to preserve a natural resource and an important heritage. The sample was taken, conserved, and handled by international sample collection protocols, i.e., the APHA and BIS methods. Following sample site collection, parameters of water analysis, including ph, TDS, turbidity, DO, BOD, COD, chloride, fluoride, and magnesium, were found for water quality analysis.
