Title

Smart Dining Systems: Integrating Table Reservation and Pre-Ordering Through Intelligent Interfaces

Abstract

Order and Dine is a new concept that aims to revolutionize the way people dine by harmonizing restaurant table reservations and food pre-ordering into a single easy-to-use interface. The concept delves into the use of an advanced technological infrastructure, such as the use of frameworks like React.js, Next.js, Supabase, and Tauri, to develop a cross-platform application that supports both web and mobile platforms. The application permits users to book tables at their most desired restaurants while pre-ordering food, thereby facilitating an effective dining experience that is marked by short waiting times. With a secure infrastructure powered by PostgreSQL and AWS S3, the application provides high-performance data storage and retrieval capabilities, which facilitate real-time updates and efficient management of restaurant operations. The application also makes use of Tailwind CSS to design an aesthetically appealing and responsive interface, while Framer Motion is used to enhance the user interface through the use of animations. The system presented here tries to address some of the most prevalent issues in the restaurant industry, such as the management of customer reservations, order taking, and reducing wait times. The use of real-time booking functionality and order tracking functionality provides an inexpensive way by which restaurant staff and customers can initiate improvements in business processes. This report describes the development process, the technologies involved, as well as the features, constraints, and where the system can be improved.
