Title

EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON PARTIAL REPLACEMENT OF FINE AGGREGATE WITH WASTE FOUNDRY SAND AND ADDITION OF STEEL FIBRE WITH PVC POWDER ADMIXTURE IN CONCRETE

Abstract

This thesis explores the viability of enhancing concrete properties through the partial replacement of fine aggregate with waste foundry sand and the addition of steel fiber with PVC powder admixture. Nowadays, there's associate increasing interest within the development of eco-friendly materials. The foundry sand is the high quality sand used in mental casting processes. it is a byproduct of the metal casting industry, where sand is molded to create casting molds of molten metal. It also has the required physical & engineering properties so, can be easily used as partial replacement of sand in concrete. The use of Sugarcane Molasses is to increase workability of concrete. The purpose using the Steel Fibers in the concrete is to improve the Strength of concrete and increase the Flexural strength, crack resistance, ductility, energy absorption or toughness in concrete therefore reduce the steel scrap waste in environment to decrease the hazardous things effects into Eco friendly system. The replacements of specimens are done at (30%, 40%,50%,60%) of fine aggregate with Foundry sand and proportion of Steel fiber is taken as constant at (1%) by the weight of cement. The concrete design mix is prepared on M35 grade of concrete. The W/C ratio is taken as 0.40. From previous studies it is concluded that the use of Foundry sand makes concrete economicand the cost for production is also cheaper. So, in this experimental study our objective to make concrete cheaper as well as to increase the flexural strength of concrete as concrete is weak in flexure. All Destructive tests are performed on concrete to check the strength, workability and durability of concrete at respective ages of 7 and 28 days respectively
