Title

A Strategic Review of In-House Winding Facility Development to Optimize Small Frame Motor Production and Industrial Efficiency

Abstract

This review explores the strategic need and technical justification for establishing a dedicated winding factory for small frame size motors (25, 28, 31) for the Industrial Motor Manufacturing Company. As global demand for electrification grows and internal production space becomes constrained due to increased manufacturing of large frame size motors, small frame motor production has faced capacity bottlenecks. This review synthesizes current trends in motor manufacturing, process optimization through MOST studies, and the benefits of in-house production in terms of quality, cost, and risk management. Key findings indicate a potential production increase of up to 20 to 25%, and 10 to 12.5% reduction in winding time per unit, and manpower optimization by 15 to 18%. The paper concludes by outlining critical success factors and future considerations for efficient motor manufacturing strategies
