Title

WORKSHEETS IN FUNDAMENTAL OPERATIONS ON INTEGERS: ITS EFFECT ON THE ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE OF LEARNERS

Abstract

This study investigated the effect of using worksheets on the academic performance of grade 7 learners in Fundamental Operations on Integers at Busing Integrated School, San Pascual North District, Division of Masbate, School Year 2024 – 2025. Specifically it determined: (1) the status of academic performance of Grade 7 learners in fundamental operations on integers; (2) the design of the developed worksheet in Fundamental Operations on Integers; (3) the curricular validity of the developed worksheets in Integers; (4) the level of academic performance of the respondent after the employment of developed worksheets; (5) the significant difference on the level of performance before and after the use worksheet; and (6) the effectiveness of worksheets in enhancing proficiency level of performance students. A pre-test and post-test were administered to assess learners’ performance before and after the intervention. Results showed a significant improvement in the post-test scores. These findings suggest that integrating worksheets into mathematics instruction can enhance student engagement and academic achievement in basic mathematical concepts. The study recommends the use of well-structured worksheets as a supplementary tool in teaching integers and other fundamental mathematical skills.
