Title

Research on “Enhancing Compressive Strength of Concrete Column Using Fiber Reinforced Polymer”

Abstract

The application of externally wrapped fiber-reinforced polymers (FRP) has gained significant popularity in civil engineering fields. The Carbon fiber reinforced polymer has remarkably enhanced the strength and ductility of concrete by creating an ideal adhesive bond between the concrete and the wrapping material. The primary goal of this project is to examine the impact of reinforced concrete columns wrapped with FRPC on split or indirect tensile strength and compressive strength parameters. The experiment will involve several concrete specimens that will include both unwrapped and wrapped columns. The study will be established through the results regarding compressive and tensile strength. The findings will indicate that for concrete specimens, the CFRP enhances the compressive strength in comparison to unwrapped concrete columns.
