Title

Self-Testing Blood Strips For Cancer Biomarker Detection

Abstract

Early detection of cancer biomarkers is crucial for improving patient outcomes and enabling prompt, life-saving treatments. This study introduces a breakthrough self-testing blood strip for cancer biomarker detection, utilizing the powerful Lateral Flow Assay (LFA) method. By harnessing advanced wax printing technology, the strips create hydrophobic zones that efficiently capture and detect biomarkers, offering a game-changing solution for point-of-care testing. These strips are coated with anti-CD19 antibodies conjugated to gold nanoparticles, enabling precise detection of the CD19 biomarker, which is prevalent in cancers like leukemia, lymphoma, and other hematologic malignancies. The LFA method ensures rapid, accurate, and easy-to-read results, allowing users to detect biomarkers with just a small blood sample. A simple visual signal makes it easy for patients to monitor their health at home, bypassing the need for expensive, complex lab tests. This innovation not only simplifies cancer diagnostics but also promotes early intervention, a key factor in improving treatment outcomes. Affordable, non-invasive, and user-friendly, these self-testing blood strips have the potential to revolutionize cancer detection. By enabling individuals to test at home, this technology could advance personalized healthcare, supporting proactive health management and contributing to global efforts in early cancer detection.
