Abstract
Counterfeit products pose significant risks to consumers' health, safety, and finances across various industries, including pharmaceuticals, electronics, food, and luxury goods. Traditional security measures, such as serial numbers and holographic stickers, have become ineffective against advanced counterfeiting techniques. This paper introduces the Fake Product Identification System utilizing QR Codes and Block Chain Technology to address this growing issue. The system combines QR codes for easy consumer access to product details, such as origin, manufacturer, and certifications, with Block chain’s decentralized, immutable nature to ensure data integrity and transparency. The Block chain records product information in an unchangeable ledger, providing traceability from production to delivery. This innovative system enables real-time authentication and verification of product authenticity, reducing the risk of counterfeit products reaching consumers. The system integrates QR codes linked to Block chain records, allowing consumers to independently verify product legitimacy via a smartphone scan. Manufacturers, distributors, and retailers can also leverage Block chain to maintain an immutable record of product transactions. This solution enhances consumer confidence, promotes product safety, and combats fraud, contributing to a safer, more transparent marketplace. This paper explores the design, development, and implementation of the system, highlighting the challenges of product authentication, Block chain’s benefits as a verification technology, and the practical integration of QR codes for consumer-facing applications.
