Title

REACT JS BASED WEBSITE FOR EFFICIENT MOVIE SEARCHING

Abstract

In the current age of digital media consumption, users frequently turn to online platforms to search for movies, looking up details about their favorite titles, actors, or genres. Despite the availability of numerous movie databases, many platforms primarily offer basic movie information without supporting personalized features such as saving or managing favorite films. This creates a challenge for users who wish to maintain a personal watchlist, often forcing them to depend on third-party tools or manual tracking methods. To address this gap, this paper introduces “Movie Times,” a dynamic and responsive movie search web application built using React.js. The platform allows users to explore movies through real-time data fetched from the OMDB (Open Movie Database) API, delivering essential details including titles, posters, ratings, release dates, and summaries. What sets Movie Times apart is its ability to let users curate a customized list of favorite movies. With a simple interface, users can easily add or remove movies from their favorites, which are stored securely in the browser’s local storage. This eliminates the need for a backend database while ensuring that the data remains persistent and readily accessible. The key objective of the project is to offer a seamless, efficient, and accessible movie discovery experience. Its user interface is clean and intuitive, optimized for multiple device sizes, and designed to help users organize their movie preferences conveniently and efficiently.
