Title

SMART TRASH MANAGEMENT FOR REAL-TIME WASTE MONITORING AND SEGREGATION

Abstract

India, with its vast urban and rural landscape, faces ongoing challenges in maintaining cleanliness and ensuring efficient waste management. This project introduces a Smart Trash Management System that integrates real-time waste monitoring with automated waste segregation to enhance waste disposal practices. The system utilizes IoT-enabled sensors to detect waste levels and monitor gas emissions, transmitting real-time data to a web-based platform accessible to municipality officials. This allows for optimized waste collection schedules, proactive identification of potential health hazards, and automated notifications to higher authorities if waste remains uncollected beyond a set threshold. Additionally, an AI-driven waste segregation mechanism, leveraging image processing techniques, classifies waste into biodegradable and non-biodegradable categories, enabling efficient recycling and reducing manual effort. Designed to be scalable and adaptable, the system seamlessly integrates into smart city frameworks and supports future advancements such as AI-driven route optimization. By combining IoT, AI, and real-time analytics, the project enhances efficiency, promotes environmental sustainability, and fosters community engagement. The Smart Trash Management System contributes to the development of cleaner, more organized urban spaces, encouraging responsible waste disposal while paving the way for sustainable urban development.
