Neem (Azadirachta indica) and turmeric (Curcuma longa) extracts have emerged as potential bio-pesticides, offering a natural and eco-friendly alternative to synthetic pesticides. This review examines the bio-pesticidal efficacy of neem and turmeric extracts, highlighting their mechanisms of action, insecticidal, fungicidal, and bactericidal properties. The synergistic effects of combining neem and turmeric extracts are also discussed. The results suggest that these natural extracts have the potential to replace synthetic pesticides, providing a safer and more sustainable solution for agricultural pest management. The bio-pesticidal efficacy of neem and turmeric extracts is a fascinating topic. Neem extracts, derived from the Azadirachta indica tree, contain over 150 compounds, including azadirachtin, which has potent insecticidal properties ¹. These extracts have been shown to disrupt the life cycle of insects, preventing them from reproducing and ultimately leading to their death. Overall, the bio-pesticidal efficacy of neem and turmeric extracts offers a promising alternative to synthetic pesticides. Further research is needed to fully explore the potential of these natural extracts and to develop effective formulations for agricultural use.
