Title

Instructional Leadership Skills of Master Teachers and Work Performance of Teachers

Abstract

The instructional leadership skills of master teachers and work performance of teachers among master teachers and teachers in Third Congressional District of Camarines Sur during the SY 2024-2025 was determined using the descriptive-comparative correlational method. Findings indicated that Controlling had the highest overall mean, followed by planning and decision-making, while instructional, mentoring, and technical shared the same average rating . Assessment and reporting had the highest work performance rating, followed by personal growth and professional development, while community linkages ranked the lowest. Leadership skills of master teachers varied significantly across districts, likely due to differences in experience, professional development, and school-specific challenges. Significant differences were found in teachers' work performance across districts, except in two aspects where no notable variation was observed. The study found that most instructional leadership aspects were significantly linked to teacher performance. The study revealed that master teachers’ instructional leadership skills had varying degrees of influence on teachers’ performance. Instruction and mentoring showed very strong influence in key areas such as learning environment and assessment, while technical skills had a strong influence mainly in the learning environment. Controlling and planning demonstrated a very strong influence in most performance areas, particularly in content knowledge and assessment. Decision-making had strong influence in several domains but showed only moderate to weak influence in areas like community linkages and professional development. Furthermore, intervention programs were formulated to enhance instructional leadership skills of master teachers and work performance of teachers.
