Title

ECONOMIC IMPACT OF UNEMPLOYMENT AND MIGRATION IN MURSHIDABAD

Authors

Abstract

Migration is a prolonged relocation of persons from impoverished regions to affluent places, driven by factors such as conflict, disease, hunger, and climate change. Since the nineteenth century, immigration has been more discernible and quantifiable. National and international organizations have commenced the formulation of policies on migration and its effects. Unemployment refers to the proportion of registered individuals without employment, therefore advocating for immigration may not serve as an efficacious approach to enhancing job integration. Migration seems essential for equilibrating regional unemployment disparities by relocating unemployed individuals from areas with elevated unemployment rates to those with comparatively lower rates. Participation in labor market programs may serve as an alternative to immigration for the unemployed; nevertheless, the significance of quality among immigrants is crucial, potentially enhancing re-employment outcomes. Immigrants assist families in fulfilling essential life requirements, including sustenance, housing, and poverty reduction. Remittances from migrants bolster household financial stability and facilitate investments in enterprises, real estate, and other assets in their home nations. Nonetheless, the accessibility and utilization rates of these applications vary socially, economically, and demographically within local communities, particularly in developing societies. In this article, economic impact of unemployment and migration in Murshidabad has been discussed.
