The pre-trial investigation is a critical phase in the criminal justice process, serving as a foundation for ensuring a fair trial. This paper explores the intricate relationship between pre-trial investigations the principles of fairness and justice in legal proceedings. The primary aim of this research is to analyze how pre-trial investigations influence the fairness of trials, focusing on the procedural safeguards and potential biases that may arise during this stage. This study employs a qualitative approach, reviewing existing literature, case studies, and legal frameworks to assess the effectiveness of pre-trial investigations in upholding the rights accused and the integrity of the judicial system. The research underscores the need for reforms in pre-trial investigation processes to enhance fairness in trials. This study contributes to the ongoing discourse on criminal justice reform, highlighting the importance of balancing effective law enforcement with the fundamental rights of individuals, thereby promoting a more just legal system.
