Title

ASSESSING PARENTAL KNOWLEDGE OF FOOD PRESERVATIVES IN PACKAGED JUICES, CHOCOLATES, AND INSTANT NOODLES

Abstract

This study aims to assess parental knowledge of food preservatives presenting commonly consumed packaged products such as juices, chocolates, and instant noodles. With the increasing intake of these processed foods by children, understanding how much parents know about food preservatives is essential. The survey was administered. Both online, and offline via Google form. The results revealed that while many parents are aware of the presence of preservatives, only a few have specific knowledge about them Most participants gained their awareness through social media and routine consumption patterns rather than professional guidance from dieticians or nutritionists. The study highlights a general interest among parents in food related matters, but also a gap in in-depth knowledge regarding preservatives. These findings suggest the importance of encouraging more informed choices through accessible and accurate information.
