Title

ParkEase: A Real-Time Parking Slot Detection and Management System Using OpenCV and IoT Integration for Smart Urban Mobility

Abstract

In urban setups, the inefficiency of parking manage- ment systems has caused serious issues, such as traffic congestion, high fuel usage, and driver stress levels. To counteract these problems, this paper introduces ParkEase, a novel parking slot detection and management system based on computer vision and real-time data processing for efficient urban parking. ParkEase is a multi-platform system with a mobile app, web app, and Python backend running on OpenCV for real-time parking slot detection. The system utilizes high-level image processing to recognize vacant parking areas and relies on WebSockets for real- time updates without any delays. Experimental results show that the system is highly accurate in detecting slots under different environmental settings and that it can process concurrent user requests with scalability. ParkEase is not just more convenient for users but also gives parking managers effective tools for controlling and monitoring parking spaces. The work advances smart parking systems by presenting a real-time, scalable solution that closes the gap between computer vision and user-oriented application development. The future includes adding IoT sensors and AI demand prediction to improve the performance of the system
