Title

Smart Platform Screen Gate for Passenger Safety in Underground Railway Stations

Abstract

Passenger safety is a critical concern in underground railway stations, particularly during boarding and alighting. This work introduces a Smart Platform Screen Gate (SPSG) system designed to enhance safety and efficiency in underground railway environments. The proposed system integrates ultrasonic sensors, and intelligent control mechanisms to prevent accidents and ensure seamless passenger flow. The SPSG is equipped with proximity sensors to detect passenger movement near the platform edge, automated sliding gates synchronized with train operations, and servo-enabled modules for real-time controlling. The system also incorporates a central control unit to manage data from sensors, providing instant alerts in case of emergencies or malfunctions. By reducing the risk of falls and other accidents, the SPSG promotes safer commuting and operational efficiency. This innovative solution aims to revolutionize passenger safety in railway infrastructure, offering scalability and adaptability for various underground rail systems worldwide.
