Title

INNOVATIVE ENERGY-EFFICIENT PROXY RE-ENCRYPTION FOR SECURE DATA EXCHANGE IN WIRELESS SENSOR NETWORKS

Abstract

In wireless sensor networks (WSNs), secure and efficient data exchange is critical, especially when leveraging cloud storage for document management. Traditional approaches require decrypting all encrypted files in the cloud to search for a specific document, leading to high computational costs, energy consumption, and time delays, challenges particularly severe in resource-constrained WSN environments. This project proposes an innovative energy-efficient proxy re-encryption scheme designed to enhance secure data exchange and optimize search operations. In the proposed system, major keywords are extracted from each encrypted document, encrypted separately, and stored alongside the documents in the cloud. When users search for specific documents, only the relevant encrypted keywords are decrypted and matched, eliminating the need to decrypt all stored files. This selective decryption significantly reduces search time and conserves computational resources. Moreover, by integrating proxy re-encryption, the system ensures that users have controlled access, retrieving only authorized documents without compromising overall data security. This approach not only improves energy efficiency and system scalability but also enhances the practicality of secure cloud-based document storage and retrieval in wireless sensor networks.
