Title

COMPACT SPLIT RING RESONATOR MICROSTRIP PATCH ANTENNA WITH ENHANCED GAIN FOR 5G C- BAND APPLICATIONS

Abstract

This Paper presents the design and analysis of a Split Ring Resonant Microstrip Patch Antenna for C Band, particularly 5G based applications. The model of the patch antenna involves a triangular patch with slots in between which provides the compact functionality. The bandwidth and gain of this antenna are improved and obtained to be 7.88dBi. The new conception of the ring resonator is considered to improvise the output parameters. The parameters of the antenna are demonstrated and the antenna is designed with a Rogers-5880 substrate and validated experimentally in HFSS Software. The antenna occupies a frequency band of 5.3-6.3 GHz. Making slots in the patch, results in a significant gain improvement. The measured values of the gain, reflection co-efficient, VSWR, 2D polar plot and Radiation patten are in good agreement with the simulated results.
