Abstract
Beauty in cosmetics is a holistic approach to enhancing one's appearance while promoting the health and wellness of one's skin, not only aesthetics. Natural beauty is a blessing, and cosmetics help to present and enhance the beauty and personality qualities of human beings. Saundarya prasadak are cosmetic bases that contain active ingredients found in Ayurvedic, Siddha, and Unani (ASU) medications. In the past, people employed numerous lepa, Alepa, Pralepa, Udavartan, Prakshalan, and other practices for saundrya prasadan karma. Nature has provided a mechanism to maintain that parity. Herbs ! Yes, herbs are one such means. An herb is a plant or plant extract that contains nourishing and healing properties. It may include leaves, bark, berries, roots, gums, seeds, stems, and flowers etc . Cosmetics alone are insufficient to care for the skin and other body parts; a combination of active chemicals is required to prevent skin damage and ageing. The public has become quite interested in herbal cosmetics. Because they are used regularly in daily life and do not have the negative side effects that synthetic goods frequently have, herbal cosmetics are said to be effective and intrinsically acceptable. The current article provides an overview of herbal cosmetics, including their current status, benefits, regulatory status, need for cosmetics, Indian extract, classification or applications of herbal products in cosmetics, and a list of Ayurvedic medicinal plants that are commonly used in cosmetics.
