Title

India's SDG Journey: Successes, Shortfalls, and Strategic Recommendations

Abstract

By 2030, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations offer a global framework for tackling important social, economic, and environmental issues. India's large and diverse socioeconomic landscape makes its participation in the SDGs imperative. This study assesses India's present position with respect to the 17 SDGs, emphasizing areas of development and highlighting significant obstacles. Notable accomplishments include advances in renewable energy, sanitation, and poverty reduction. But there are still big obstacles in the way of ending hunger, guaranteeing access to healthcare, achieving gender equality, and tackling environmental sustainability. The main obstacles are policy gaps, environmental degradation, social barriers, economic disparities, and structural limitations. In order to accelerate progress, this study highlights the significance of focused policy interventions, technological innovation, international cooperation, and community engagement. Based on globally and in India, successful initiatives, the study provides actionable suggestions for improving SDG results. India can make a significant contribution to the global SDG agenda and secure a prosperous and equitable future by promoting a holistic approach that integrates economic growth, social inclusion, and environmental sustainability.
