Title

Design and Implementation of an Electromagnetic Inspection Framework for Non-Destructive Evaluation of Steel Conductors Using Magnetic Flux Leakage Techniques

Abstract

This paper presents the design and implementation of an electromagnetic inspection framework for the non-destructive evaluation (NDE) of steel conductors using magnetic flux leakage (MFL) techniques. The framework integrates advanced electromagnetic sensors and signal processing algorithms to detect and characterize defects in steel conductors without compromising their structural integrity. The methodology includes the development of a magnetizing unit, a sensor array, and a data acquisition system tailored for real-time inspection. Experimental results demonstrate the framework’s ability to identify surface and subsurface defects with high sensitivity. The findings highlight the potential of MFL-based NDE for improving the reliability and safety of critical infrastructure components.
