In sugarcane farming, rodent pests pose a serious problem because they seriously harm crops and result in financial losses. The behavioral patterns, ecological effects, and methods of crop damage of rodent species, especially Bandicota bengalensis, are reviewed in this work. It also assesses contemporary management approaches, such as biological, chemical, and cultural approaches. The significance of climate sensitivity, farmer awareness, and cutting-edge technology like AI and IoT for pest monitoring are emphasized. Developing integrated, sustainable pest management methods that are regionally adaptive is one of the future directions.
