Title

Synthesis of biologically active compounds having 2,3- dihydro-1,4-benzothiazine nucleus with nitrosourea linkage

Abstract

Abstract Nitrosoureas are an interesting class of drugs for cancer chemotherapy due to their unique chemical and biological characteristics. They interact with DNA by alkylation. The ability of nitrosoureas to cross blood brain barrier and lipophilic character have been attracted attention of a large number of scientists to explore them for cancer chemotherapy. After an extensive study of QSAR (qualitative structure activity relationship) for nitrosoureas against L 1210 leukemia in mice concluded that lipophilic character of nitrosoureas is the most important parameter determining the antitumor activity. Many nitrosoureas are remarkable in their ability to achieve cures of various animals as well as human body. In the present research work synthesized compounds have 2, 3-dihydro -1, 4-bezothiazine nucleus and a side chain at 4- position forming nitrosourea linkage. Anticancer activities of some of the derivatives of the compounds have been reported in the research papers published before by the author. 14-15
