In this paper an attempt has been made to present a brief picture of the present condition of geriatric heath care in India looking at the increasing rate of the life expectancy of the elderly population in India. Problem of Ageing population in India is discussed in terms of their heath and financial problems. Government of India’s interventions in terms of various health care and financial schemes for elderly population and their implementation are also mentioned. A comparison has been made on geriatric care system of India with two developed nation – USA & Japan. This study is completely undertaken on the basis of various literature and Government reports from various secondary sources. While countries like India, USA & Japan strive to deliver high-quality healthcare services, variations in health outcomes and quality of care may exist due to differences in healthcare delivery models, workforce capacity, and infrastructure availability as well due to the differences in history and culture of the countries. Today population ageing & Geriatric health care is the most discussed topic and the government should establish more old age homes and the older population need community care which can be the best alternative in the changing world.
