The Project is to explore the wastewater re-use from Municipal Corporation Panipat in neighboring Industries like Textiles & Refinery, in addition to utilization in urban areas and for Irrigation purposes. The strong commitment of Industries like Refineries to reduce their water footprint and the burden on natural resources, exploring the alternatives to fresh water. The policy of Central & State Governments encourages the local municipal corporation to install STPs for treating the domestic sewage water in STPs and install, if required, additional Tertiary Treatment Plants like Ultra Filtration (UF) / Reverse Osmosis (RO) to further treat the effluent to meet the water quality requirements of neighboring Industries. This shall reduce freshwater consumption by 25% from present consumption levels.
