Mental health concerns are becoming increasingly prominent in today’s fast-paced digital era, yet the stigma surrounding them often prevents individuals from seeking timely support. To bridge this gap, we present MentaSocial, a mental health social networking application designed to create a safe and supportive virtual environment. This platform allows users to share their thoughts, emotions, and experiences anonymously while receiving real-time sentiment-based feedback. By leveraging Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques such as sentiment analysis and abstractive summarization, our system provides insights into user mental states and flags potentially harmful content for review. The backend is built using Flask, integrated with Firebase/SQLAlchemy for secure data handling, while the frontend ensures an intuitive user experience. The application not only aids users in self-expression but also helps mental health professionals track emotional trends and intervene when necessary. Our approach aims to democratize mental wellness support through a tech-driven, community-oriented solution.
