Title

SYNTHESIS, CHARACTERIZATION AND ANTIBACTERIAL STUDY OF COPPER AND ZINC COMPLEXES OF AROYLHYDRAZONE.

Abstract

The condensation of 4-hydroxybenzhydrazide and 1-hydroxy-2- acetanapthone afforded the aroylhydrazone 1-hydroxy -2-acetanapthone-4-hydroxybenzhydrazone. The compounds were characterized by means of FT-IR, UV-Vis and elemental analysis. Also, the investigated compounds were tested for biological activity against E.coli and Staphylococcus aureus. The compounds exhibited antibacterial activity against E.coli and staphylococcus aureus.
