Title

21st Century Teaching Pedagogy and Teaching Efficacy of High School Mathematics Teachers

Abstract

This study assessed the level of teachers’ 21st century teaching pedagogy and teaching efficacy of high school Mathematics teachers in Calabanga District, School Year 2023-2024. The study used a descriptive-correlational design involving 34 respondents. Data Gathering tools included survey questionnaires and statistical tools utilized were Weighted Mean, Pearson Product Moment Correlation, and Coefficient of Determination. The following conclusions were derived: (1) The level of 21st century teaching pedagogy in collaboration, critical thinking, creativity, communication, character, compassion and cross-cultural understanding were highly observed. Likewise, the overall was also regarded as highly observed. (2) The level of teaching efficacy of the high school Mathematics teachers among the 3 aspects were very highly efficient. Likewise, the overall also was regarded as very highly efficient. (3) The test of correlation interprets that only 2 of the 7 aspects of 21st century teaching pedagogy had a significant relationship with the aspects under teaching efficacy. These were Collaboration and Creativity. (4) The level of 21st century teaching pedagogy had weak influence on the teaching efficacy of the high school Mathematics teachers. Only 3 out of 21 tests of coefficient of determination were found to have a moderate influence. (5) The proposed training and development program aimed to enhance the proficiency of the high school Mathematics teachers in the 21st century teaching methods to allow them to meet the growing demands in education.
