Since its early adoption in the late 1970s by select special libraries, automation has gradually become a cornerstone in the development of academic library systems. The shift from manual to automated processes reflects a broader move toward innovation in library management. This paper examines the functionality and impact of the “e-Library” integrated library management software, designed to simplify and enhance core library operations. Through automation, libraries can minimize repetitive tasks, increase accuracy, and offer more responsive services to users. The discussion also underscores how such technological integration is reshaping libraries into efficient, data-driven environments that better support learning and research in the digital age.
