Title

THE EFFICACY OF RAKTAMRUT VATI AS AN ADJUNCTIVE THERAPY IN REDUCING CLOTTING FACTOR CONCENTRATE REQUIREMENT IN HEMOPHILIA B: A CASE STUDY

Abstract

Long-lasting bleeding episodes are a hallmark of hemophilia, a genetic disorder marked by a deficiency of specific clotting proteins. Deficits in clotting factors, most commonly Factor VIII (Hemophilia A) and Factor IX (Hemophilia B), cause hemophilia, a genetic bleeding illness that is inherited in an X-linked recessive fashion. Patient Profile: A 25 years male had frequent complaints of haemarthrosis (joint pain, swelling & restricted mobility). Intervention: Clotting factor concentrates are administered as part of the traditional care of hemophilia in order to stop and manage bleeding episodes. "Raktamrut Vati," a patented Ayurvedic formulation, was given to lessen the frequency of bleeding episodes and the requirement for clotting factor concentrates. Result: After three months of treatment the symptoms reduced effectively. Conclusion: In patients with severe hemophilia B, Raktamrut Vati shows encouraging efficacy as an adjuvant Ayurvedic intervention in improving joint health, lowering the demand for clotting factor concentrates, and raising general quality of life.
