Title

Work Environment, Workload, and Performance of Teachers

Abstract

The influence of work environment, and workload on the teaching performance of teachers, and use it as a basis in crafting a policy recommendation, Bagacay Elementary School, Tinambac South District, Division of Camarines Sur, school year 2023 – 2024 was determined using descriptive – correlational methods of research. Findings revealed that status of work environment had an over-all average weighted mean of 3.58, which was interpreted as very good, while status of workload of teachers had an over-all average weighted mean of 3.69, which was also interpreted as very good. Moreover, the teaching performance of teachers had an over-all weighted mean of 4.63, which was interpreted as very highly performed. Furthermore, there was a significant relationship between physical and learning environment, diversity of learners, curriculum and planning, and assessment and reporting; while there was a significant relationship with social and curriculum and planning, and assessment and reporting; On the other hand, there was significant relationship between nature of task and content knowledge and pedagogy, and diversity of learners; significant relationship between working hours and learning environment, diversity of learners, curriculum and planning, and assessment and reporting; significant relationship between reporting requirements and content knowledge and pedagogy, learning environment, and diversity of learners; and significant relationship between degree of responsibility and learning environment, and diversity of learners. Additionally, Work environment along physical aspect had very strong influence on learning environment, diversity of learners, curriculum and planning, and assessment and reporting; while social aspect had very strong influence on curriculum and planning, and assessment and reporting. Meanwhile, workload along nature of task had very strong influence on content knowledge and pedagogy, and diversity of learners; working hours had very strong influence on learning environment, and diversity of learners; reporting requirements had very strong influence on learning environment; and degree of responsibility had very strong influence on learning environment, and diversity of learners. Finally, faculty development plan, if implemented properly, could enhance work environment, workload and teaching performance
